Hargeisa-The Somaliland National Army has wrapped up a multi-day strategic session reviewing its 2025 performance and setting priorities for 2026, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening national security.
During the meeting, senior military officials conducted a comprehensive assessment of operational achievements and challenges faced over the past year.
The review aimed to enhance institutional effectiveness and align the army’s objectives with emerging security demands.
Key focus areas for 2026 include improving coordination among security agencies, modernizing training programs to meet contemporary standards, revising and updating military legislation, and further reinforcing national defense capabilities.
The leadership emphasized that sustaining peace and stability requires collective responsibility. Citizens were urged to stand united in supporting the armed forces to safeguard Somaliland’s sovereignty and long-term security.
