Hargeisa- The Director General of the Ministry of Water Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Adan Abdilaahi Abdille, has concluded a productive official visit to the State of Israel aimed at enhancing cooperation on sustainable solutions to water scarcity and recurrent drought challenges.
During his visit, Mr. Abdille held high-level discussions with senior officials from the Israel Water Authority and met with representatives of MASHAV, Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation.
The talks focused on strengthening technical collaboration, advancing capacity-building initiatives, and promoting knowledge transfer in the field of integrated water resource management.
As part of the visit, the Director General toured key national water infrastructure facilities, including large-scale desalination plants, advanced wastewater treatment systems, and centralized water command and control centers.
The tour provided valuable insight into Israel’s globally recognized water management model and innovative technologies designed to maximize efficiency and sustainability.
The visit represents a significant milestone in deepening bilateral cooperation between Somaliland and Israel, building on recent diplomatic engagements between the two sides and opening new avenues for strategic partnership in the water sector.
