Hargeisa-The Policy Leadership Committee of the Somaliland National Insurance Authority, together with the Technical Committee for Motor Vehicle Insurance, held their third meeting to review and finalize the implementation plan for motor vehicle insurance.
The meeting, chaired by the Minister of Finance, Abdillahi Hassan Adan, focused on key issues including public awareness strategies, premium setting, and market considerations.
Chairman of the National Insurance Authority, Ahmed Hirsi Ducaale, emphasized that the initiative forms part of the Authorityโs 2026 work plan and represents an important step toward developing Somalilandโs national insurance system.
The session concluded with an agreement to accelerate the remaining technical preparations required to launch motor vehicle insurance, marking a significant milestone in strengthening and regulating Somalilandโs insurance sector.
