Somaliland Cabinet Approves New Livestock Quarantine Law.

HARGEISA, Somaliland’s Cabinet has unanimously approved a new Livestock Quarantine Law, aimed at strengthening animal health, improving livestock exports and ensuring compliance with international veterinary standards.

During the 69th Cabinet meeting, chaired by President of the Republic of Somaliland Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi “Irro”, ministers also reviewed the country’s security situation, with Interior Minister Abdalle Mohamed Arab reporting that Somaliland remains peaceful and stable.

The Cabinet further endorsed new regulations requiring government vehicles to retain their official GT registration plates, a move designed to improve accountability, transparency and the protection of state assets.

Concluding the meeting, President Irro reaffirmed that peace, national unity and stability remain the government’s top priorities. He also called for dialogue, reconciliation and unity regarding the Sool region, urging that any grievances be resolved peacefully.
