Hargeisa- The Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Somaliland, Prof. Ismail Duale Yusuf—accompanied by the Head of the Student Welfare Office, Abdikarim Ahmed Yusuf, and the Minister’s Advisor, Mohamed Jama Yusuf—held a meeting today with the Head of Programmes for the World Food Programme (WFP).
The meeting focused on the School Feeding Programme, which plays a vital role in advancing education in Somaliland, particularly for students attending schools in rural areas.
The Minister elaborated on the significance of the school feeding programme for Somaliland’s education sector, highlighting its role in increasing student enrollment, ensuring consistent school attendance, reducing dropout rates, and improving child nutrition.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the WFP officials also emphasized the importance of the school feeding programme for educational development, and both parties agreed to strengthen their cooperation.
