Hargeisa โ The Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdinasir Ahmed Hirsi, has welcomed the U.S. bill H.R.7993, introduced by Congressman John W. Rose, which aims to ease Somalilandโs access to the American financial system.
In a statement posted on X, Hirsi described the move as a significant step toward integrating Somaliland into global financial networks and enhancing regional stability.
He highlighted ongoing reforms at the Central Bank, including strengthening regulatory frameworks, modernizing financial infrastructure, and improving anti-money laundering measures.
Hirsi added that the proposed legislation would reduce reliance on informal financial channels, improve transparency, and position Somaliland as a credible and reliable partner in the international financial system.
