HARGEISA โ Somalilandโs Minister of Information, Culture and Awareness, Barkhad Jama Batuun, has held talks with officials from DT Global and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) aimed at strengthening cooperation on cultural development and the preservation of national media archives.
The meeting focused on the modernization and digitization of historical archives from Radio Hargeisa, Somaliland National Television, and the Dawan newspaper, as part of broader efforts to safeguard the countryโs cultural heritage and ensure its accessibility for future generations.
Both sides underscored the importance of expanding joint initiatives to support cultural development, with international partners reaffirming their commitment to assisting Somaliland in preserving its rich cultural legacy.
Minister Batuun highlighted that the partnership would play a key role in enhancing the capacity of the cultural and media sectors, while improving the management, protection, and accessibility of vital historical records.
