Hargeisa-The Republic of Somaliland Representative Office in Taiwan was honoured to welcome a high level delegation from the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF), led by Secretary General Dr Huang Yu-Lin, for a productive and wide ranging meeting at the Office.
H.E. Ambassador Mahmoud Adam Jama Galaal warmly received the delegation and expressed the Office’s deep appreciation for TaiwanICDF’s enduring commitment to the partnership between the Republic of Somaliland and Taiwan (ROC).
Secretary General Huang spoke extensively and with evident conviction on the strength of this partnership, and in particular on TaiwanICDF’s involvement and projects in Somaliland. The Ambassador was struck by the Secretary General’s keen and sophisticated understanding of international development and humanitarian affairs, enriched by his distinguished prior service as President of the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy. His insights illuminated why the partnership between Somaliland and Taiwan, two democracies bound by shared values, rests on such firm foundations.
The two sides reviewed completed projects, took stock of ongoing cooperation, and explored future avenues of collaboration between TaiwanICDF and the various institutions of the Republic of Somaliland.
The Office commends the professionalism and exceptional standard of the Secretary General and his team, and looks forward to working closely the TaiwanICDF in the months and years ahead.
