Hargeisa- Somalilandโs Minister of Interior, Abdalle Mohamed Arab, has announced that security forces have apprehended a network allegedly involved in a plot to undermine the countryโs security and stability.
Speaking to the media, the minister stated that members of the network are currently in the custody of security agencies, and that a formal investigation is underway to determine the full details of the alleged activities and identify all individuals involved.
He stressed that the government will not tolerate any attempt to weaken peace and public order in the Republic of Somaliland.โSecurity forces have arrested an organized network that was being used to destabilize the country.
They are in custody, and investigations are ongoing. Hassan Sheikh (the President of Somalia) is among those leading the efforts behind this,โ the minister said.Minister Abdalle further noted that Somalilandโs rising international profile has reinforced efforts to safeguard the countryโs sovereignty and national existence.
He added that President Abdirahman Cirro, in the first year of his term, has made notable progress regarding Somalilandโs recognition efforts.
The minister also stated that since Israel recognized the Republic of Somaliland, the countryโs strategic role in the Horn of Africa has grown significantly, enhancing its political and diplomatic standing in the region.
