Hargeisa-The Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments of the Republic of Somaliland, Sheikh Abdullahi-Baashe Dahir Jama, has delivered a solemn and heartfelt briefing to the Council of Ministers on the escalating drought conditions affecting communities across the country.
Describing the situation as critical, the Minister issued an urgent nationwide appeal to Somalilanders both at home and in the diaspora to mobilize immediate support for populations severely impacted by water shortages and prolonged dry spells.
He called for the swift launch of a unified National Emergency Response, stressing that extending assistance to those affected is โboth a religious obligation and a national duty.โ
The Minister underscored the need for solidarity, compassion, and collective action to alleviate suffering and protect the countryโs most vulnerable communities.
