Hargeisa-The Government of the Republic of Somaliland and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have officially launched a new cooperation framework for 2026–2027 aimed at strengthening collaboration in key social development sectors.
The event, held at the Ministry of Planning and National Development, brought together members of Somaliland’s Council of Ministers and senior UNICEF officials.
The new work plan focuses on improving essential services, including health, education, child protection, water and sanitation, nutrition, and social policy.
Officials stated that the framework will enhance coordination between government institutions and UNICEF, with the Ministry of Planning serving as the central body responsible for overseeing and coordinating the implementation of the partnership across relevant ministries and agencies.
