Somaliland Issues Weekly Rainfall Forecast, Warns of Possible Flood Risks.

Hargeisa-The Ministry of Agricultural Development of Somaliland has released its rainfall forecast for the period of 17–25 March 2026, predicting moderate to heavy rains across several regions of the country.

According to the Ministry, regions including Awdal, Maroodi-jeex, Saaxil, and Sanaag are expected to receive between 50mm and 100mm of rainfall.

Meanwhile, Togdheer and Sool are forecast to record lighter precipitation ranging from 20mm to 30mm.

The rains are expected to occur intermittently throughout the week.

The Ministry has encouraged farmers and pastoralists to take advantage of the anticipated rainfall to support agricultural production and livestock activities.

However, it also cautioned communities to remain vigilant due to the risk of flash floods.

Residents, particularly those living near waterways and flood-prone areas, have been urged to take necessary precautions.

Authorities further emphasized the importance of staying updated with official weather advisories to ensure public safety during the seasonal rains.
