Hargeisa- Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Cirro has appointed new ministers and carried out a wide-ranging cabinet reshuffle, according to an official statement from the presidency.four ministers to lead strategic portfolios.
Aadan Geeddi Qayad was named Minister of Agricultural Development, while Mohamed Abdimalik was appointed Minister of Water Development.
Dr. Abdisalan Hussein Awaale will head the Ministry of Communications and Technology, and Lawyer Barkhad Jama Hirsi Batuun was appointed Minister of Information, Culture and Awareness, also serving as the government spokesperson.
In addition, Khadar Haji Yusuf Abdillahi was appointed as a member of the Political Associations Registration and National Parties Approval Committee, a body responsible for overseeing political organization processes.
Dr. Mohamed Osman Fadal was named Senior Presidential Adviser on Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The reshuffle also saw several deputy ministers reassigned across key ministries, in what officials described as efforts to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and align leadership with national development priorities.
The move comes as the Somaliland government pushes forward institutional reforms and broader development goals.
