BURAO — The Minister of Health Development of Somaliland, Mr. Hussein Bashir Hirsi, together with a high-level delegation, has carried out a working visit to Burao city in the Togdheer region to evaluate the overall healthcare situation.
The delegation included the Director of the Child Health and Immunization Department and the Head of Regional Coordination at the Ministry. Upon arrival, they were warmly received by the regional health coordinator, the Togdheer regional governor, and officials from Burao General Hospital.
The main purpose of the visit was to assess health service delivery in the region, with particular focus on the recent rise in measles cases reported over the past weeks.
The Minister was briefed in detail by regional health officials and hospital management on the current situation and response measures.
During the visit, the Minister also conducted an on-site inspection of key hospital facilities, including the Emergency Unit, the Oxygen Unit, and the isolation ward designated for patients being treated for measles.
