𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐬 “𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬” 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲.

𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐢𝐬𝐚-The Director General of Somaliland’s Ministry of Livestock and Rural Development, Ahmed Osman Jama, has praised veterinarians as “frontline defenders” during celebrations marking World Veterinary Day in Hargeisa.

Speaking at the event, Jama described veterinarians across Somaliland as professionals who serve with the same dedication as soldiers, working around the clock to deliver essential animal health services across all regions.

“I congratulate all veterinarians working in the livestock sector. They operate like soldiers, tirelessly always carrying out their duties,” he said.

This year’s World Veterinary Day in Somaliland was held under the theme: “Veterinarians are guardians of food and health,” highlighting their critical role in protecting livestock, ensuring food security, and safeguarding public health.
