Somaliland President Holds Strategic Talks with Former IGAD Envoy on Regional Stability and Investment.

Hargeisa- The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro), today hosted former IGAD envoy Mohamed Abdi Afey at the Presidential Palace in Hargeisa, in a high-level meeting focused on regional security, political developments, and enhanced cooperation across the Horn of Africa.

During the discussions, President Irro underscored Somalilandโ€™s pivotal role in promoting stability in the region, describing the country as a democratic and peaceful actor within an increasingly complex geopolitical environment.

He stressed the need for stronger collaboration among Horn of Africa nations to achieve sustainable peace and long-term development.

For his part, Ambassador Afey commended Somalilandโ€™s strides in peacebuilding and state-building, noting that its experience offers valuable lessons for neighboring countries facing similar challenges.

He also disclosed plans to publish a book chronicling his involvement in peace initiatives across the Horn of Africa.

The meeting was attended by senior government officials and prominent business figures, including investors with a particular interest in the healthcare sector, highlighting Somalilandโ€™s ongoing efforts to attract sustainable investment and foster economic growth.
