Somaliland Interior Minister Meets Senior UK Government Delegation to Strengthen Security Cooperation.

Hargeisa-Somaliland’s Minister of Interior and Security, Abdalle Mohamed Arab, today held high-level talks with a senior delegation from the United Kingdom Government.

The UK delegation included officials from the UK Office in Somaliland, the British Ambassador, and a representative from the UK Ministry of Defence.

The meeting focused on strengthening security cooperation between Somaliland and the United Kingdom, with discussions covering counterterrorism, regional security challenges, and enhancing the capacity of Somaliland’s security institutions.

Minister Abdalle Mohamed Arab presented the Ministry’s vision for modernizing and reforming the country’s security sector, emphasizing the importance of integrated institutions, intelligence sharing, advanced technology, and coordinated operational capabilities.

The two sides also discussed the proposed Somaliland National Operations Command Centre (SL-NOCC), a strategic national initiative aimed at improving inter-agency coordination, intelligence sharing, emergency response, and Somaliland’s overall ability to respond to evolving security threats.

The UK delegation welcomed the Ministry’s reform agenda and reaffirmed its commitment to continued cooperation with Somaliland in promoting security, stability, and strategic partnership.
