Hargeisa โ The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro), has issued a presidential decree formally establishing the Military Pension and Compensation Authority of the National Armed Forces of the Republic of Somaliland.
The newly created institution is mandated to oversee the pensions, compensation, and welfare services of Somalilandโs military and security personnel upon retirement.
It will ensure that eligible retired service members receive their lawful financial entitlements in a timely and transparent manner, alongside improved post-service social welfare support.
According to the decree, the authority is intended to strengthen the institutional framework governing military welfare, enhance accountability in pension administration, and safeguard the rights of personnel who have served in the national armed forces.
The initiative forms part of wider government reforms aimed at modernising public institutions and improving service delivery within the security sector.
